The refit of MY Gallant Lady stands as a testament to Akerboom’s ability to merge tradition with modernity. Originally built in 1996, this yacht recently underwent a transformative upgrade, including the installation of a new gangway and a state-of-the-art beach platform. What made this project truly remarkable was the challenge of creating new structural elements where none existed before. Akerboom’s team meticulously cut into the yacht to install these features, ensuring they were not only functional but also seamlessly integrated with the vessel’s design.
The result is a yacht that now boasts enhanced accessibility and luxury, with components that are fully corrosion- resistant and built to last. The project was carried out in Aalsmeer, a region synonymous with Dutch shipbuilding excellence, highlighting Akerboom’s deep connection to its heritage.

Traveling to Perth, Australia, Akerboom’s specialists demonstrated their ability to deliver complex engineering solutions anywhere in the world.
The project began with a routine aft seal overhaul, but it quickly became apparent that a new shaft was necessary. Akerboom’s experts handled the situation with the utmost care, installing the new shaft along with an updated inner and aft seal system, thereby ensuring the yacht’s continued performance and safety on its global voyages. This project is a perfect example of Akerboom’s ability to adapt and deliver, no matter the challenges or location.

In the luxury yachting world, MY Adventure’s recent transformation is a prime example of Akerboom’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship. In close collaboration with industry leaders Azure, and Monaco Marine, Akerboom meticulously developed several technical proposals, each carefully evaluated for its advantages and limitations. The chosen solution was nothing short of ingenious: the gangway was extended by 1.1 metres within its existing housing, bringing the total length to 7.69 metres.
This extension, along with a new hydraulic and electric control system, was integrated without compromising the yacht’s original design. The project not only enhanced the yacht’s functionality but also maintained the vessel’s elegant profile, showcasing Akerboom’s ability to innovate within strict design parameters.
