CURTAIN CALL
In its sixth decade, the 62nd Antigua Charter Yacht Show is preparing the scene for the 2023 event at the historic Nelson’s Dockyard
Established in 1961, the annual event now celebrating its 62nd edition, takes place from 4th – 9th December 2023 at the start of the Caribbean sailing season. It is a celebrated meeting and is the world’s largest multinational networking event for charter yacht brokers, captains, vendors and press. Registration for the 2023 event will be opened on 1st June with an early discount.
The 2022 Antigua Charter Yacht Show was a great success; everyone was excited and we are all now back on track after the pandemic. We want to say a special thank you to all the 2022 sponsors, yachts, brokers, marine vendors and stakeholders who continue to support the show.
Set in the historic surroundings of Nelson’s Dockyard Antigua, the show attracts attendees from North America, Europe, and the Caribbean islands. Antigua has direct flights from major international airports and there is a wide range of hotel and villa accommodation within walking distance of the show. While the time honoured district still conjures up images of its 18th century past, there’s nothing dated about its amenities. Superyachts can now set anchor in Nelson’s Dockyard itself, thanks to the creation of a larger, upgraded dock. The marinas boast an abundance of maritime services with a chandlery and high flow rate fuel, plus a supermarket, gym, boutiques, laundromat, and medical centre. Everything the visitor or crew may need.
Showcasing the world’s finest charter yachts, the Antigua Charter Yacht Show attracts about 60 of the world’s finest charter yachts on the market, ranging from under 50ft to 231ft and over.
The on-the-water show includes motor yachts, sailing yachts and multihulls. The six day schedule includes numerous network opportunities organised via the dedicated hospitality desk. Situated at The Copper & Lumber Store Hotel in Nelson’s Dockyard. Charter Yacht viewings are made directly with yacht teams, often with advance bookings required.
The main objective of the Antigua Yacht Charter Show is to create the perfect environment for charter yacht industry professionals to network, renewing connections forged over many years, as well as making new ones. The show is bustling with business opportunities and is one of the obvious reasons the show has been running for 60 years, it works and industry visitors come back year after year.
Always a popular event for the crew and attendees is the ‘Concours de Chef’. It is certainly one of the highlights during the event, a themed competition for the chefs and crew to showcase their culinary skills and table scaping prowess to the yachting industry.
The trailblazing event set the benchmark for the industry when it first took place six decades ago, and is today a highlight of the annual yachting calendar. Sunny climes, genial locals and a scenic backdrop are waiting for you.
