And while it is guided each time by the same design philosophy, each yacht that emerges from the studio is unique, because each of its clients is unique. Before sketching a single line, the team spends as much time as is necessary familiarising itself with the client, asking questions, listening intently and learning as much as it can about the client’s lifestyle and planned cruises. Everything the team does revolves around the client, for it is they that will be sailing out to sea on the team’s designs.

Integrated teams create better designs with greater efficiency. When one observes Vripack’s team putting together one of the highly complex vessels it is known for, you realise quite quickly that the key factor in the studio’s success isn’t state-of-the-art 3D software, lean manufacturing principles, its proprietary code or virtual reality – though it employs all of these; rather, it’s its people, with all their passion and enthusiasm for the craft of yacht-building, and their comprehensive and shared understanding of the craft.
