Mr Cinema was created when the founders of Mr Smith uncovered a grey area in the Super and Mega Yacht market place. They quickly realised that once a client had purchased their new AV solution it really wasn’t very clear what film content they were legally licensed to have onboard. This was especially the case with Chartered and LLC owned superyachts. It became apparent that many so called ‘content providers’ supplying the yachting industry were not endorsed by the studios or their distribution partners. It was also clear that the content they provided was simply for residential home use rather than a commercial ‘non-theatrical’ agreement, which is especially important for charters or non-family usage in order to be legal and not infringing the copyrights of the rights holders.
