At the beginning of the year, Marina Port Vell signed an agreement with America’s Cup 2024 to become the Preferred Superyacht Marina during the competition, which will be held in Barcelona between August and October of 2024, and further project the positioning of Barcelona as a hub for large yachts worldwide.
Marina Port Vell is an infrastructure specialized in the superyacht segment with a unique and unbeatable location in the center of the city of Barcelona and next to the regatta course, which makes it the perfect choice and the reason why the official organizer of the event has designated it as the Preferred Marina for Superyachts of the 37th America’s Cup. More than 60 large yachts have already requested mooring in its facilities to attend this sporting event, further strengthening the positioning of the city of Barcelona as a hub for superyachts in the Mediterranean and as a reference destination in this sector.
With a year to go before it starts, the city is already preparing the event and has started the countdown for its celebration with the arrival of the different teams. The British team INEOS Britannia have chosen Marina Port Vell to locate its boat. Specifically, the British team will rest their boats at the ‘Spain Dock’, next to the old IMAX cinema, where it will occupy an area of about 600 m2 and from where it will have access to the sea. INEOS Britannia will also have three docks for the rest of its boats.
Premium services for superyachts and a center for official America’s Cup merchandising
Marina Port Vell will host dozens of superyachts that will visit Barcelona for the 37th America’s Cup. With the aim of offering a unique and memorable experience to customers, the marina has appointed a team focused on providing high value-added services and plans to multiply its resources to meet the expected high demand. In addition, Marina Port Vell will also set up an exclusive boutique to provide visitors official merchandising of the event.
