Power consumption, or conservation of power is definitely a hot topic today and a traditional stabilizer system is considered a high consumer of energy. Basically, a traditional hydraulic system at idle, must remain operating at 40% capacity, whereas the F45 at idle, operates a rate of only 1 kW or 4%. It only uses energy as needed, when needed, representing an enormous departure from a traditional system.
Another major advantage is the 80% energy recovery rate in underway mode, a recapture when the fin is returning. That energy is then stored for future use through an innovative, flywheel technology. In addition, there is a 60% rate of efficiency over a traditional system in Zero Speed™ mode.

New Control Technology
The new 5000S control, compatible with the F45, is known as the “brains” of the system. This new generation of control technology offers advancements that will support systems well into the future.
Latest Control Technology
- Easy and seamless transition from underway to zero speed and zero speed to underway, negating the delay that occurs from the older technologies.
- The 5000S can automatically detect the roll period, and seamlessly adjust the settings to combat the roll, for an ultra-smooth ride.
- Modular coding allows for easy integration between old and new system components.
Operational Advantages
- Control panel/HMI is designed for a more intuitive UI experience, simplified operation.
- The fin position and speed can be customized for zero speed and underway mode. Eco-mode ensures less fin action in calm conditions, saving power.
- The Effector Control Module (ECM) is integrated into the main controller, allowing for a faster response time, with improved performance.
- Fins and rotors can be individually activated and directed, from the main controller.
- Auto mode allows for the gain values to be easily adjusted and displayed.
Improved Reliability
- Integrated VPN and Viewer– enables secured remote access for software updates, troubleshooting and data recording, without a time delay and expense of a site visit.
- The main controller is able to rerecord inputs and save data before and after an “event” which can be accessed later for diagnosis.
