Oceana, the latest collection from SYLKA™ Carpets, represents a pivotal shift in the luxury marine interiors and exteriors market – where refined design meets conscious innovation. Developed specifically for marine environments, this groundbreaking collection was unveiled at the Dubai International Boat Show 2025.
What sets Oceana apart is not only its elegant aesthetic and bespoke versatility, but its uncompromising commitment to sustainability. The collection is made using AquaSylk® and EcoSylk®, SYLKA’s proprietary fibres developed from upcycled ocean plastics and recycled nylon. These advanced yarns deliver durable, easy-care performance, transforming waste into tactile, luxurious interior and exterior products.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT FIBRES FOR SUPERYACHT CARPETS
When selecting carpets and rugs for superyachts, material performance is as important as design. Certain plant-based fibres, including bamboo, viscose, mercerised cotton, and indeed real silk, may appear luxurious but tend to be highly absorbent, delicate, and difficult to maintain, especially in marine conditions; these fibres therefore need to be used with caution and with expert guidance.
By contrast, SYLKA’s AquaSylk® and EcoSylk® fibres offer a superior alternative: they are inherently luxurious, durable, and resistant to moisture and stains, and effortless to maintain, all while aligning with modern sustainability standards. These qualities make Oceana an ideal choice for marine environments that demand both beauty and resilience.
AquaSylk® (repurposed ocean plastic waste) and EcoSylk® (discarded industrial nylon) are recycled and extruded into soft, durable fibres that can be used for the production of all Sylka bespoke handmade carpets and rugs – allowing for unlimited custom possibilities.
