With a strong background in the private jets industry, Gordon & Gaïa upholstery workshop arrived about 8 years ago in the yachting industry. One of their client who had just completed the full refurbishment of his helicopter invited them onboard his yacht in Cannes…just to have a look ! AMF DESIGN & CREATION
Created in Monaco in 1988 with the main activity being the interior refitting and renovation of boats and yachts. The first projects were the fitting out of S/Y Zamora, a 43m classic steel sailing yacht, and S/Y Mephisto, a 24m joungert with the interior woods in balsa core and laminated teck with modern marine upholstery leatherette fabrics to create a light weight durable interior suitable for a modern cruiser racing yacht. The business later expanded into decoration of villas, and in 1999 expanded the saddlery and upholstery side of the business with and offie in the port of Fontvieille, Monaco, and a new show room on the Monaco border in Cap d’Ail avenue 3 Septembre. The team are proud to have a clientele of distinguished and demanding yacht owners from the music and film industry as well as international businesses. Marine fabrics for the New Normal. The ongoing covid-19 pandemic is driving marine interiors professionals to thoroughly assess materials specified for new-build and refurbishment projects. Marine coated fabrics are treated with biocidal active substances to inhibit the growth of microbes such as bacteria and viruses. The smooth, non-porous and durable surface of coated fabrics is highly resistant to scratches and cracks, where microbes may thrive. In addition, their high cleanability promotes good maintenance practices by simplifying disinfection methods.
