BALK SHIPYARD
Balk Shipyard, founded in 1798, specialises in constructing, refitting and rebuilding yachts up to 65m in length. Its first-class facilities comprise of three ultra-modern construction halls, state-of-the-art workshops, warehousing and a paint-spraying cabin. All halls are fully air-conditioned and equipped with floor heating. Air humidity, compression and temperature can all be regulated. Each hall contains a rail system connected to the slipway and an overhead crane. Yachts can easily be lifted out of the water and positioned on a rail track for moving to the right hall. The slipway installation can lift vessels up to 1,000 tonnes out of the water. Located in Urk, the Netherlands, just an hour’s drive from Amsterdam, Balk Shipyard is at the heart of Northern European shipbuilding. The local airport Lelysted is very close. Owners and their representatives can expect to be with their projects at Balk Shipyard in less than 30 minutes from landing.
