I recently sat down with Priscilla Morgan, President and Chief Operating Officer at Kaleidescape, to catch up with the latest developments in their unique product range.
I was delighted to learn how their pursuit of excellence has inspired such breathtaking innovations.
Here’s a recap of the enhancements that elevate Kaleidescape’s technologies to a whole new level.
This has been a very exciting year for Kaleidescape with new products launched to elevate the user experience. Having established themselves as the ultimate movie platform, the team set its sights on developing new features to bring the world of entertainment to your yacht with exquisite quality and ease of use.
The only digital provider of movies with lossless audio and full reference video quality, Kaleidescape elevates every component of a private cinema or media room.
Kaleidescape has agreements with all the major Hollywood studios, providing customers with access to thousands of movies, TV series and concerts through its movie store. Kaleidescape has been designing, manufacturing and selling state-of-the-art movie players and servers for over 20 years in the luxury residential and marine markets.
Over the past year, Kaleidescape has introduced new innovations in their product lineup and their Marine Movie Service. So, I dug a little deeper and have outlined my findings below.
NEW PURCHASE & DOWNLOAD FUNCTIONALITY
In July 2025, Kaleidescape introduced a fabulous new feature that enables download of selected movies, TV series, and concerts directly to your yacht’s onboard cinema systems . This provides you with the option for quick access to select movies you may want to watch immediately, such as new releases, while still allowing you to order movies via an encrypted solid-state drive.
Availability depends on the location of the yacht and applicable licensing rights.
For movies that are available to download directly, simply click on the “Download” button, and a purchase dialog will appear. Any movie that is not available to download will have an “Add to Order” button.
MOVIE STORE UPDATES
The Kaleidescape Marine Movie Store continues to grow. They have added over 20 studios and 1,500 titles over the last year, bringing the total to over 13,000 titles, including over 2,000 in 4K and 400 in Dolby Vision.
They offer the latest new releases, including premium offerings (movies that are available for purchase while in theatres) as well as the latest 4K arrivals, concerts, TV series, opera, and other niche content.
Now available from the Marine Movie Store are a variety of new releases including Superman, Ballerina: From the World of John Wick, Sinners, A Minecraft Movie, Karate Kid Legends, and Wicked.
Great catalogue titles are also now available for the first time in 4K, including Seven, Tombstone, and Kill Bill, Volume 1.
NEW STRATO MOVIE PLAYERS
Over the past few months Kaleidescape has launched three superb new Strato movie players, Strato V, Strato E, and Strato M. Strato V is their flagship 4K movie player, Strato E is their entry 4K movie player, Strato M is their reference 2K movie player.
Strato C remains a good solution in combination with Kaleidescape’s Co-Star that gives customers the best of both worlds – full access to Kaleidescape Movie Store content, including 4K Ultra HD movies, along with seamless access to all the movies on their Premiere system. The Premiere system will retain its ability to import content from disc, as it does today.
All Strato movie players feature lossless multi-channel and spatial object-based audio, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Strato movie players can be grouped together with one or more Kaleisdescape Terra movie servers, to fit a variety of entertainment needs.
PREMIERE SYSTEMS & DISC-TO-DIGITAL
For customers who continue to use Premiere disc-based systems, Kaleidescape continues to build new Premiere servers and M-class players, including KSERVER1550-0950 36TB servers, M500 and M300 players.
For Premiere customers wishing to upgrade to a Strato/Terra system with Marine Movie Service, Qualtron in close cooperation with Kaleidescape can assist with Disc-to-Digital conversions. As part of this process, Kaleidescape will generate a detailed report that shows which titles are eligible for Disc-to-Digital.
