Derecktor Shipyards
FORT PIERCE | DANIA BEACH, FL
Derecktor Shipyards was founded in 1947 in New York and began life as a builder of wooden sailboats. The yard quickly grew, and became a pioneer in aluminium construction, over time building such notable vessels as America’s Cup winner Stars & Stripes ‘87 and the 86 metre Cakewalk, the largest yacht ever built in the United States. Derecktor also expanded southward, helping make Florida the global yachting centre it is today. Derecktor’s two Florida shipyards service a wide variety of the needs of today’s superyachts . The Dania Beach yard continues its 50 plus year history of expert refit and comprehensive repair service. Service that was unmatched in Florida until the opening of Derecktor’s newest facility: Derecktor Ft Pierce. Here on the laid back and unspoiled Treasure Coast of Florida, a shipyard unlike any other in America has been created, capable of handling today’s largest power and sailing yachts. With a 1500 ton mobile hoist, 9 metre controlling depth and unlimited air draft, DFP is rapidly taking its place among the world’s most capable superyacht refit centres. No other U.S. yards can offer what these two do: unmatched capabilities and over 75 years of tradition in building and servicing the world’s greatest yachts.
