Voly Launches Crew Payroll

A Major Milestone in the Digital Transformation of the Superyacht Industry

London, UK — March 9, 2026 — Voly Launches Crew Payroll Module the new , a significant step forward in the company’s mission to modernise operational systems across the global yachting industry. The new solution integrates payroll, contract management and leave planning into a seamless digital workflow, replacing manual processes and legacy spreadsheets with a unified platform.

The launch represents the culmination of several years of strategic development aimed at transforming payroll operations within a sector that has historically relied on fragmented systems and labour-intensive processes. By combining deep operational expertise with modern technology and dedicated human support, Voly has created a solution designed to simplify one of the most complex administrative functions in yachting.

The development of the platform began with two key acquisitions that strengthened Voly’s capabilities. Voyonic, a long-established provider of payroll and employment services in the sector, brought decades of trusted industry expertise.

Meanwhile, Workrest introduced a modern, crew-first platform featuring industry-leading Hours of Rest functionality and the foundations of an integrated leave planning system.

Together, these capabilities formed the basis of Voly Crew, the company’s unified crew management platform.

Voly Launches Crew PayrollOver the past six months, Voly’s product and engineering teams have expanded that foundation into a fully integrated payroll system. The rollout follows the successful launch of digital onboarding in October, enabling secure crew data capture and improving operational efficiency through Voly’s Guernsey operations.

With the introduction of the Payroll Module, clients can now manage month-end payroll through an intuitive digital interface. Fully integrated with contract management and leave planning tools, the platform removes manual spreadsheets, reduces the risk of human error and introduces greater transparency to a historically complex process.

“This industry has long depended on spreadsheets and legacy workflows,” said Ian Flanagan, Co-Founder of Voly. “We saw an opportunity to rethink payroll from the ground up. By bringing together operational knowledge and intelligent technology, we’re creating something that fundamentally changes how payroll is managed in yachting.”

Industry leaders have also welcomed the launch. Sean Reid, Captain of M/Y Triumph, praised Voly’s continued commitment to innovation.

“Voly continues to set the standard for innovation in the yachting industry,” Reid said. “The launch of the Payroll Module is another example of how they are constantly evolving their platform to solve real operational challenges for captains and crew.

Having a fully integrated system that simplifies payroll and crew management is a major step forward for the industry.”

“From a captain’s perspective, anything that reduces administrative complexity and improves accuracy is hugely valuable,” Reid added. “Voly has been pushing the industry forward for years, and the launch of the Payroll Module shows their continued commitment to developing market-leading tools that make life easier for captains, crew
and management teams.”

Further endorsement came from Nick Dean of Dean & Waters, who has worked closely with Voly’s platform for several years.

“I’ve been working with Voly for a number of years, using their full suite of products to manage vessels through Dean & Waters and beyond,” Dean said. “Voly are consistently at the forefront of innovation in the superyacht space, creating software that simplifies managing a superyacht while delivering security and transparency at every point.

“It now feels only natural for me to support Voly in the launch of their new Payroll product. This product will set a gold standard for managing crew payments, giving full transparency to all levels of management and ensuring crew payments are made swiftly and securely.

“Thank you Voly for yet another fantastic product.”

Kirstie PilattiThe initiative was led by Kirstie Pilatti, who oversaw the development and implementation of the new module across multiple teams.

“This milestone reflects the dedication of an exceptional team,” Pilatti said. “Payroll is one of the most complex systems we’ve built at Voly, requiring careful coordination across integrations, compliance frameworks and client requirements. The collaboration across teams has been extraordinary.”

While the Payroll Module represents a major milestone for the company, Voly emphasises that the launch marks the beginning of the next phase of development.

“Shipping the Payroll Module is a huge achievement,” Flanagan added. “But this is just the start. Now we focus on learning, iterating, implementing and scaling — continuing to build the most advanced payroll and crew management platform in the industry.”
